Sakkarai Pongal (Sweet Pongal) is a rice-lentil hasty pudding. We make this dish during Pongal, it is the only festival of Hindu that follows a solar calendar and is celebrated on the fourteenth of January every year.

I’ve heard so many wonderful things about pongal from my Indian blogger friends. One day, I will prepare it myself and find out what all the raving is about. : )
